Website Terms and Conditions
Effective from 26 October 2026.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of the STEP in Care website, its pages, forms and linked information. The website is operated by Step in Care Limited, company number 12464573, registered in England and Wales (“STEP”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By using the website, you agree to these terms. They apply to website use only. Any care, staffing or recruitment service may be governed by a separate written agreement, service terms, care plan or employment terms.
2. What the website does
The website provides information about STEP and lets people contact us about care, staffing and vacancies or register interest in work. Sending an enquiry does not create a care, staffing or employment contract. We will discuss suitability, availability, assessment, fees and any service agreement separately before a service begins.
Website information is general information. It is not medical advice, an individual care assessment, a care plan or an emergency service. Do not use the website to report an emergency or urgent safeguarding concern. Call 999 in an emergency or contact the appropriate health, social care or safeguarding service.
3. Using the website and forms
Use the website lawfully and for its intended purpose. Do not disrupt, damage, overload or seek unauthorised access to the website or its systems; submit malicious code; impersonate another person; or knowingly submit false or misleading information.
When submitting another person’s information, you must have authority to provide it and should tell that person about the submission and our Privacy Notice. Provide only information needed for the enquiry. Do not submit identity documents, full medical records, medication lists or unnecessary sensitive information through a general enquiry form.
We may suspend access where reasonably needed to protect the website, users or our systems, or to comply with law.
4. Website content and availability
We take reasonable care to keep website information accurate and current, but information may be incomplete or change. Confirm service availability, eligibility and locations directly with STEP. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may update, remove or temporarily suspend pages for maintenance, security or operational reasons.
5. Intellectual property
Unless a page says otherwise, website text, design, graphics and branding belong to STEP or are used with permission. You may view and print reasonable extracts for personal, non-commercial use. You must not reproduce, adapt, distribute or commercially exploit website material without written permission, except where law permits.
6. Third-party websites
The website may link to services or websites operated by others. We provide links for convenience and do not control those services or their content, availability, security or privacy practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and notices.
7. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not allow that, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.
Subject to that, STEP is not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when you used the website, or for business losses arising from use of a website intended for general information and enquiries. This does not change rights under a separate care or staffing agreement.
8. Privacy and cookies
Our use of personal data is explained in the STEP in Care Privacy Notice. Cookies and similar technologies are explained in the Cookie Policy. You can change optional cookie choices using the Cookie Settings link on the website.
9. Changes
We may update these terms when the website or our services change, or when legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Updated terms apply from publication, subject to rights that cannot lawfully be changed.
10. Law and courts
These terms and any non-contractual obligations arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. For disputes properly heard in Sunderland, the local County Court hearing location is Sunderland County, Family, Magistrates’ and Tribunal Hearings, as allocated under the applicable court rules. Nothing in this clause restricts a consumer from bringing a claim in a court available to them under applicable law or requires a consumer to bring a claim in a court where the law does not permit it.
